Scope: “Tourism Matters” 2011 Provincial Election Campaign

In 2011, TIAPEI formed an Election Readiness Taskforce to further the goals and areas of concern to members of the tourism industry with political candidates during the Federal and Provincial election campaigns.

In the weeks leading up to the PEI Provincial election TIAPEI was determined to bring tourism to the forefront with all of the political parties, their candidates and the general public. Dawn Binns and Insight Marketing were especially helpful in managing the media aspect of our campaign. Their backgrounders, media advisories, press releases, and event summaries were on target, concise and exactly what we envisioned when we approached Kerry Anne and Dawn asking for their help and expertise. Dawn very quickly zeroed in on the message we were trying to convey and produced pieces that caught the attention of the media and the general public.

The work done by Insight Marketing was a valuable part of the information process that TIAPEI initiated during the election campaign and it was a great pleasure to work with the company. I hope there will be many opportunities in the future to work again with Dawn and Kerry Anne.

Client: Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI

Scope: For over eight years Dawn has worked with numerous non-profit and government organizations on collaborative projects. A number of these initiatives included the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Prince Edward Island.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dawn Binns on a number of collaborative initiatives over the past 6 years.

On many of the projects Dawn has had the lead role. She  is able to facilitate participant involvement, listen to individuals, distill their concerns, and succinctly state the issue. Dawn routinely affirms messages;  seeking to ensure she understands what is being said so that she is able to develop strategies to achieve goals, meet the needs of participants or address their  concerns. She is open to new ideas; thinks strategically, and is able to revise her opinions or tactics to resolve new situations.

When working with groups, Dawn is able to develop a plan based on the group’s input and then successfully assist the group with the implementation of the plan. Invariably, goals are achieved.

Scope: Insight Marketing was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with TourismTechnology.com in 2011. The project took us throughout Atlantic Canada talking to tourism operators about marketing and social media.

“We selected Insight Marketing to develop and deliver an educational workshop series regarding developing a social media strategy for tourism businesses. We delivered 12 of these workshops throughout Atlantic Canada, and all were a tremendous success with most all participants rating the workshop either a 4/5 or 5/5 on their evaluation sheet.

One of our provincial partners emailed me after attending one of the workshops stating that she thought we “hit a home run by selecting Kerry Anne for these workshops”. I agree 100% with that statement.  We have since had a number of participants comment to us how much they enjoyed the workshop, and especially Kerry Anne.

Throughout the contract, Kerry Anne listened to our comments, concerns and direction, and then quickly and efficiently developed the material for our workshops.  When some of our needs changed, she was flexible and understanding, and adjusted the material to address these needs.  She was very accommodating when it came to scheduling these workshops and was always well prepared no matter where she was presenting.

Kerry Anne is very personable, approachable, and an overall great presenter.

Her depth of understanding and knowledge in regards to marketing came out in her presentations. One of the major challenges we have with our workshops is they include people with varying levels of knowledge and skepticism in regards to social media, online marketing, and traditional marketing.  Kerry Anne was able to adjust her presentation to the level of the overall audience, as well as individual participants.  I believe this was why our workshop series was such a success.

Insight Marketing has been one of the best vendors I have had the pleasure to work with, and I look forward to the opportunity to working with them again.”
